Instagram post 2195040621096856429_1250223670 Casually floating through Mondays. You can really feel the weird combination of end-of-the-year-anxiety and Christmas spirit in the air, and it’s really weird. There are so many things to wrap up before everyone will go on the holiday break so soon, but at the same time we’re all about drinking glögi and eating tasty Christmas treats. Hope you can have a somewhat relaxed week!

Instagram post 2192986762794773518_1250223670 This photo captures Finland for me just so perfectly, and it represents everything I love about living here. Calmness, nature, that wintery light, peace and just an overall feeling that makes me thoroughly happy. Today, Finland celebrates the 102 year anniversary of its Independence, and while it’s probably something that’s quite hard to grasp for many of us, it’s an important reminder to cherish the country we live in and appreciate it for what it is and where it came from. Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää!
Instagram post 2192268937025340606_1250223670 With the gloominess coming back down at us, I think back of last weekend in @fiskars_village and wish you a lovely long weekend ahead! With the Finnish Independence Day and the Christmas market opening in Helsinki, it can only be a couple of good days ahead!

Instagram post 2189877234021722245_1250223670 Helsinki at Christmas time is just so magical! Later this week @tuomaanmarkkinat will finally open as well and I cannot wait for my favourite apple glögi and and the tasty goodness again. Every morning when I walk to the office, I pass this beautiful corner and it just gets me so excited. Only in the last years I’ve learnt to enjoy Christmas, make my own little traditions and embrace all that comes with it (except cheesy Christmas music, don’t need that in my life). Last night I made rice porridge with fresh apples and cinnamon - another thing I never associated with this season until I moved to Finland. Love everything about it.
Instagram post 2186571062526105389_1250223670 We definitely need treats in the dark season, and last night was just that. Tasty cocktails and fun conversations (and maybe just a tiny little buzz), dress up a little and do something new, like a cocktail class. I made this delicious one with rhubarb, lime and gin and I think it’s gonna be my new signature drink 😎🍸 thank you for the lovely evening @pinghelsinki and @konseptihelsinki!
Instagram post 2184398240995579333_1250223670 Today the lights on Helsinki’s Christmas street were lit, and were allowed to be in a Christmas mood all officially now! It’s one of the most magical moments of the year, and I’m so happy I was there. The lights stay on until the end of January, as we all need some brightening up of the winter. Check out my story for my highlight of the day 🐴🦌❤️
Instagram post 2177755352308117182_1250223670 Fridays are for date night! We’re gonna try a new Vietnamese place in town. My favourite thing is going out for a nice dinner, catch up on the week and finish the work mode with a nice glass of wine, and walking home and enjoy the fresh air afterwards. I wanna try to visit more exhibitions now in the winter as well. What’s your favourite date night thing in Helsinki?
Instagram post 2176433670561697930_1250223670 I didn’t really have Filipino food on my radar, so I was so happy that I was invited by the guys at @paisanofilipino to try the delicious food from their home, and we were also impressed with the vegetarian options, some of which you see here (also I’m getting hungry). Can’t wait to be back soon!
